When you think of the dining area, you might picture high ceilings and glass chandeliers over candle-lit dinners or maybe something more down-home like family squabbles over games of Monopoly going late into the night. Whichever comes to mind when you think of this room, it is a place to gather together. Not just a space to get in and then out, this area of the home invites you at all times of the day and for every occasion.

In the morning you might be serving hot oatmeal with milk and raisins to a sleepy family brigade, or PB & J sandwiches cut up into bite-sized pieces at lunch. If you’re not a whiz in the kitchen or just don’t have the time, you might open your blinds up just a crack to watch for the Skip the Dishes deliverer bringing your Saturday-night play-offs pizza and fizzy pop.

Whoever you are and whatever you do, there are just as many ways to use the dining room as there are ways to decorate it. Whether you prefer an extravagant, shiny kind of glamorous space or something simpler, the dining area is a room that should never feel dull, no matter how you choose to use it!
