Whether it’s your first home or your tenth, the first question on your mind is likely this;
“How big is the master bedroom?”
The master bedroom is your safe haven when the rest of the house is in chaos, so you need to know what kind of space you are working with. It’s your reprieve, your Saturday night Netflix-abode, or the one place you know you can stash your favourite candy and the kids won’t get to it!
However, you choose to relax in this space, getting the bedroom decor right is as crucial as figuring out where to hide the Christmas presents this year.
In the master bedroom, one might have a King-sized bed and a favourite painting above it, but down the hallway there may be a smaller room housing a different pair of people. Maybe this room contains two twin-sized beds for two, dearly loved kids. The perfect picture of childhood, a fantastic set of bright-pink curtains lights up the whole room, casting a cheery glow over the pint-sized night tables beside each tiny bed. Unlike the master bedroom, which is generally (hopefully) kept tidy, this is a room where no such expectation is made, as much as one tries. A place of imagination, toys are strewn across the floor and early-reader books lay flat on the end of the bed from the evening’s bedtime stories. This is a room full of fond memories and dreams for the future.
Whoever inhabits the room, the bedroom can be a place of escape. For you, an escape to relaxation, but for another it’s an escape into their imagination and a bucket of toys. Whether it’s a painting over the bed or a set of funky-colored curtains that makes you happy, the bedroom is one of those spaces that is all your own. In a smaller room, you may need furnishings to open the space up, but a larger bedroom might require something to bring everything together. Whatever your needs are, the right window coverings are what will add the final touch to your little escape right at home.
